On Wed 02 February Peter Quilliam, Nick Hopson-Hill and I met with a group from the local branch of Guide Dogs for the Blind to present a cheque for £1000 on behalf of Andover Golfing Society. This picture is the best of a doubtful bunch of snaps taken by my wife Julia, who was more interested in the dogs. Receiving the money is Eric Wright, the fund-raising co-ordinator for Andover area. Afterwards we all enjoyed chat over a socially-distanced coffee. There is no doubting the enthusiasm of these people who seem to spend a great deal of time shaking tins and buckets outside garden centres and supermarkets - our donation is clearly a major boost to the funds. Hopefully there will be some media exposure; Eric says he might be able to get it on local radio.

Once again, a big 'thank you' for the members' support of my charity initiative for 2021 - to the generosity of those who bid for the golf vouchers, and more generally to those who should be hitting the ball a bit straighter.

The Guide Dogs group also said thanks. The dogs said woof.
